About Our Summer Youth Academy
The NSMCOM Summer Youth Academy has established standards of high Performance for our students, staff and program, as our priority. Some of the Methods that will be employed to ensure excellence include:
- Measurable Outcomes for academic performance by students in each of the critical areas of reading, mathematics, science and health;
- Missouri Teacher Certification for all lead instructors;
- Professional development for all certified teachers, teaching assistants, and mentors on meeting the specific needs of participating students;
- Weekly student assessment reports provided for parents, combined with parent conferences and phone contact;
- Background and security checks for all staff;
- Regularly scheduled in-service and planning periods for all teachers;
- Curriculum and programming that inspires and encourages consistent attendance.
